Waist circumference (Men: 40” or greater. Women: 35” of greater)
Body composition analysis with low lean muscle, high fat mass, and/or visceral fat mass

For weight loss:
Get your baseline stats and see your body change through the program.
Aids in safe weight loss and achieving optimal health. Significant weight loss done incorrectly can lead to skeletal muscle loss. Monitoring of body composition can help guide the treatment plan to ensure you’re not losing weight at the expense of muscle.
No additional fee for intermittent BCA if you’re a patient at True North Health
Non-patients:
Training/Conditioning (Crossfit, wrestling, gym rats, anyone who wants to gain muscle): Monitor your body composition as you train to ensure you’re getting the results you want.
Peri and Post Menopausal Women: Ensure you’re maintaining adequate skeletal muscle and not gaining dangerous levels of visceral fat.
Screen for sarcopenic obesity. Sarcopenic obesity is when there is a normal BMI or waist circumference but low muscle mass and high fat mass. It is associated with more progressive or severe frailty as a person ages and numerous other metabolic complications.
$75 for each BCA. No consultation or interpretation but interpretation tool available.

Fee for Service
At this time TNH does not accept insurance but strives to offer affordable, high value medical weight loss treatment. If your insurance company covers obesity treatment, prescriptions may be covered. Health savings account funds may also be eligible to cover weight loss treatment.
If you are a candidate for anti-obesity medication, they can be expensive. Your insurance may cover medications, labs, or additional tests if necessary. Go to the FORMS tab for a helpful guide to use when inquiring with your insurance company.
You are encouraged to call your insurance provider to determine if and what anti-obesity medications (AOMs) and obesity treatment they cover. If your insurance does not cover AOMs, they may cover them as treatment of other co-occurring chronic conditions you may have. If not, we may explore options through specific pharmacies, drug company coupons, or patient assistance programs.
